  TRANSPORTATION

  • Portland has an advanced light rail system that connects the airport, the train station, bus stations, and park and rides right to downtown.  PSU is also linked up with the Street Car that runs right into PSU's campus. While the city is well served by transit, cycling and walking are preferred modes by many tens of thousands of residents and students alike.  In fact, Portland has the highest percentage (6-8%) of bicycle commuters of any large US City, and is the only large city to earn The League of American Bicyclists’ platinum status as a bicycle-friendly city.  If you are driving to Portland, consider bringing a bike along to take advantage of the many cycling routes and paths in this bicycle friendly, metropolitan area.

  ACCOMODATIONS

  • A block of rooms has been reserved at University Place Hotel.  The hotel is on the PSU campus at 310 SW Lincoln Street.   The base price for this promotion is $89, plus taxes and parking fees.  Please reference the Oregon Lakes Association to get the discount.   Rooms are limited so early booking is encouraged. Reservations can be made on-line at www.uplace.pdx.edu, or by calling (503)221-0140 or 1(866)845-4647.
  • Also please visit Travel Portland or any other visitors guide website for accommodation options.
  • Remember light rail serves PSU campus, so there are options outside of the downtown section that might be a good match for your stay as well.

  PARKING

  • There is limited parking in Portland, period.  Therefore, our advice is to leave the car at the hotel, or at the park and ride, and finish your journey to campus on the MAX, Streetcar or on the seat of your bicycle.  All the info you need is here at PSU's Transportation and Parking Services.

  LUNCH

  • Deluxe deli sandwiches
  • Choice of two salads
  • Brownie or cookie
  • Iced tea
