Oregon Lakes Association

....a voice for quiet waters.

Projects, Policies & ADVOCACY

The Oregon Lakes Association is currently involved with a number of projects affecting lakes in Oregon. Our volunteer efforts have been critical in engaging other stakeholders in a number of local, state, and federal issues including:

    • Conservation of Lake Abert, a critical migratory bird habitat in southeast Oregon, and its primary source of water, the Chewaucan River.
    • Support for designation of Waldo Lake as an Outstanding Resource Water
    • Advocacy for funding a comprehensive state-wide cyanobacterial harmful algal bloom (CyanoHAB) monitoring and research program by the Oregon legislature
    • Transitioning away from the use of lead (Pb) in fishing weights

If you have any questions on these or other matters, please consider reaching out to the Board of Directors or email us at OregonLakesAssociation@gmail.com
