Biography
Zoe Chavis is a master’s student in Biological and Ecological Engineering at Oregon State University. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering, with a minor in Entomology, from North Carolina State University. She continues her graduate research focusing on complex algal dynamics within water quality models. Her work aims to link these models to effective mitigation strategies for reducing the severity and frequency of harmful cyanobacteria blooms. After completing her studies, she intends to pursue a career in ecological engineering or applied research, dedicated to producing impactful and actionable work that enhances the health of both lotic and lentic water systems.
