Biography
Richard Litts grew up in Medford and is an OSU graduate in biology. He is a retired Lamprey Biologist from the Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians (CTCLUSI) in Coos Bay and also worked with the Watershed Council on Tenmile Lakes. He owns a home on North Tenmile Lake from which he can watch the daily and seasonal changes in the lake and its inhabitants, and his growing collection of monitoring equipment, birding books, boats, fishing poles and tackle attest to his commitment to the improvement and preservation of the lake and watershed.
His last job was studying and working to preserve Pacific Lamprey that are native to the Tenmile Lakes Watershed. Using radio tracking methods, he studied the migration, habitat use, and spawning behavior of this important species.
